MOUNT PLEASANT - Mrs. Martha Gandy "Butchie" Furr, 56 of 55 N. Main St., Mount Pleasant, died Sunday, June 18, 2006, at her residence. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cabarrus Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Furr's family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Gordon Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. She was born Nov. 1, 1949, in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late Robert L. Gandy Sr. and Iretta Hurlocker Gandy. She was retired from the Cabarrus County Tax Collectors Office. She attended Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ and enjoyed horseback riding. She was the 1954 Class Mascot for Concord High School. She is survived by her husband, Jerry L. Furr; daughter, Jennifer Megan Brooks of Mount Pleasant; grandchildren Leah and Reece; brother, Robert L. Gandy, Jr. of Columbia, S.C.; and sisters, Billie Gandy Mauldin of Gainsville, Fla., and Jatana Gandy-Stewart of Marshville. Gordon Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is serving the Furr Family.
