Death

Mr. Zeke William Cardwell, 18, a resident of 5292 Old Hwy 109, died Tuesday, February 21, 2006 at High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Cardwell was born August 20, 1987 in Guilford County, a son to Anthony and Sheila Furr Cardwell. A resident of Davidson County all his life, he graduated from South Davidson High School in 2005. While there, he was a member of the band and won the Semper Fidelis award. He also won the Silver Key award for Scholastic Art and Writing in 2004. He attended Woodlawn Baptist Church, was a student at Davidson County Community College, and had worked at Skippers Seafood in Thomasville. He was a special and courageous young man who touched every life he came into contact with. He was preceded in death by a brother, Shawn Cardwell, and by his maternal grandmother, Camilla Furr. Surviving are his parents of the home; a sister, Melissa Cardwell of the home; a brother, Eli Cardwell of High Point; paternal grandparents, Stancy and Ola Mae Cardwell of High Point; maternal grandfather, Guy (Pea-Nut) Furr of High Point; two aunts, Sherri Furr and Linda Staton, both of High Point; and several cousins. A funeral service was held Friday, February 24 in the chapel of Cumby Family Funeral Service in High Point with Rev. Johnny Wheeles and Rev. Janet Forrest officiating.
