CHARLOTTE — Louvine Poplin Furr, 72, Charlotte, died Thursday (March 9, 2000) at her residence. Born June 22, 1927, in Albemarle, she was a daughter of the late Bertha Fay Morgan and John Bennett Poplin. A longtime member of First Baptist Church, Mrs. Furr worked as a bank manager for BB&T for 35 years before her retirement in 1992. Her husband, Claude G. Furr, died in 1980. Survivors include daughter Claudia Shawn Furr; son Chip B. Furr; sister Ruby Tucker; brother Cecil Poplin; and one grandson. Services:3 p.m. Sunday, First Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Charles D. Page. Visitation: 1-2:45 p.m. Sunday, at the church. Burial, Canton Baptist Church, Albemarle. Memorials:Building Fund, First Baptist Church, 301 S. Davidson St., Charlotte, N.C. 28231. Harry and Bryant is in charge. Hartsell Funeral Home is handlilng Albemarle arrangements.Endnotes
