Death

Margie M. Furr of Sullivan, Missouri, formerly of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the age of 89 years. Mrs. Furr was born on February 19, 1922 at Greensboro, North Carolina to the lat Claude and Pearl (Bennett) Meeks. At the age of six, she moved with her family to Charlotte and on October 16, 1944 was married to Joseph Furr. Mr. Furr preceded her in death on November 8, 1999. Margie was employed for 45 years as a line worker at the Lance Cookie and Cracker Company in Charlotte and later retired from there. In August of 2009, she moved to Sullivan to be closer to family. She was known as a quiet individual who stayed to herself but was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by three nieces; Yvonne Neel, Phyllis Williamson and Lynda Miles; seven nieces and nephews, Kim Brand, Rhonda Barnes, Leesa Neel, Karyn Brown, Amber Miles, Todd and Timothy Neel; other relatives and friends. Graveside funeral services will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina on Monday, February 28, 2011 in Sharon Memorial Park. Visitation for Mrs. Margie M. Furr will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Alternative Hospice.
