BESSEMER, Ala., Jan. 9. — Special — Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Furr, 80, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Nettie Thompson, at Powderly, Thursday afternoon after a short illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Furr was a pioneer of this district, having lived here for many years. She is survived by one son, Charlie Furr, and six daughters, Mrs. Robert Jefferies, of Lipscomb; Mrs. Addie Keller, of Ensley; Mrs. Lula Thompson, Mrs. Leonard Edmundson, Mrs. J. D. Hurd and Mrs. Nettie Thompson. Funeral services were to he held at the Lipscomb Methodist Church Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. J. W. McCarty officiating. Interment at Union cemetery. The pallbearers, grandsons of Mrs. Furr, are Lloyd Keller, Harry Keller, Charlie Jefferies, James Jefferies, William Jefferies and Roland Hurd.The Birmingham News, Birmingham, Alabama, January 9, 1925
