Sister Of Mrs. Furr Passes SundayFuneral services for Mrs. Martha Jane Furr Goodman were held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 at Love’s Chapel with the Rev. Mr. Hamiltn officiating assisted by the Rev. Mr. Tosh of Landis. Interment was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Goodman, better and affectionately known as “Mam” Goodman, passed away Friday, November 14, at the home of her son, Wick Goodman, in Landis. She was born November 15, 1851, and would have celebrated her 96th birthday if she had lived until Saturday. She was married to M. A. “Mart” Goodman of Mt. Pleasant, who died many years ago. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Columbus Furr of McKinney, Texas; five sons, Prince, Wick, Charles, Zeb, and Cleve Goodman; two sisters, Mrs. R. N. Furr of Albemarle and Mrs. Jack Furr of Stanfield, and several grandchildren and great-grand-children. Those attending the funeral from Albemarle were Mrs. R. N. Furr, Mrs. Silas Efird, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Furr, Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Moton, and Mrs. Robert Morgan, and Robert M. Furr.
