Death

HOSFORD - Jessie Furr, 79, owner of Ora's Restaurant, died Thursday, April 15, 2004, in Tallahassee. The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Quincy. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. EDT Sunday at Independent Funeral Home in Quincy (875-1529). He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and had resided in Hosford for the past 60 years. He is survived by two sons, Wendell Furr of Hosford and Larry Furr (and wife Paula) of Rock Bluff; two daughters, Teresa Alday of Carrabelle and Shera Cook (and husband Jammie) of Quincy; a brother, Edward Furr of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Jessie Denwell Furr.
