Police release composite of a man involved in recent homicide. By NICOLE MARSHALL World Staff Writer 6/2/2008 2:44 PM Police released a composite sketch Monday of a man who fatally struck another man last month. Ricky Furr was assaulted on May 7 while he was at 1013 N. Quaker Ave., Officer Jason Willingham said. He was transported to a hospital where he died on May 25. His death has been ruled a homicide. Witnesses told police that an unidentified man struck Furr while they were in the yard of the residence. Furr suffered a severe head injury and never regained consciousness, Willingham said. The attacker was described as being white, approximately 25 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds. Witnesses described him as having a stocky build, short dark hair and a stubbly beard. The suspect was seen riding in a vehicle with three other men. Witnesses said the vehicle was yellow or tan. The motive for the attack is under investigation, Willingham said. Manslaughter charge filed in fatal '08 assault. A first-degree manslaughter charge was filed Thursday in the beating death of a man in 2008, court records show. The Tulsa County District Attorney's Office filed the charge alleging that Carl Allen Couch Jr., 26, of Tulsa assaulted Rickey Lee Furr on May 7, 2008, in the yard of a residence in the 1000 block of North Quaker Avenue. Furr, 54, suffered a severe head injury and never regained consciousness, dying May 25, 2008, police said at the time. Witnesses gave police a description of the assailant that is consistent with Couch's description, records show. In 2004, Couch was convicted of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and served a two-year sentence, records show.
