I was born an Army brat, in Texas. My father retired from the Army after 21 years and settled in Texas. I met my wife in college, in El Paso, Tx. We got married and when she became pregnant I left school and went to work for a sales and manufacturing company. I rose to the position of Asst. Sales Manager and secretary on the Board of Directors. With a new baby at home, my bride didn’t like that I was always gone and asked me to change jobs. There was nothing available in the area so I contacted a trucking company manager in NC–he had a job for me. I’d have to start at the bottom, when the owner died the company closed, I was the Dispatch Supervisor. I began working for a manufacturing company going from machine operator, to lead man, to 1st shift supervisor, to dept. manager, finally landing at production control. I became a single father when my girls, Gina and Dayna, were 7 & 8; they are now 20 & 21.
