Death

MONROE -- Ethel Furr Tarlton, 68, of 5811 Unionville Road, died Monday, September 23, 2002 at Union Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Unionville Baptist Church, Rev. Hank Parker, Jr., officiating. Burial will be at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Monroe, NC. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. Mrs. Tarlton was born October 13, 1933 in Stanly County, NC, daughter of the late Tersia Kiker Furr and Brice Furr. She was a homemaker and a member of Unionville Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Howard Tarlton of Monroe; sons, Marvin Tarlton of Marshville, NC and Eddie Tarlton of Monroe, NC; daughter, Lisa Starnes of Monroe, NC; sisters, Christine Currin of Cameron, NC and Linda Huneycutt of Locust, NC; and 5 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Olin Furr. Memorials may be made to Unionville Baptist Church Building Fund, 4700 Unionville Road, Monroe, NC 28110. The family will meet at the home, 5811 Unionville Road, Monroe, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland, is serving the Tarlton family.
