Death

Helen Nance Furr, 80, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at her home. She was born on September 21, 1925 in Charlotte, NC and was a charter member of Forest Hill Church. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Furr and her son, James H. Furr, Jr. She is survived by her son, Phillip B. Furr and his wife, Peggy; a daughter, Rhonda F. Johnson and her husband, Doug; four grandchildren, Bryan, Krystal, Kaylyn and Jamie; a brother, El Nance of Huntersville; and a sister, Johnnie Murphy of Charlotte. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 26, 2006 at Harry and Bryant Company 'Chapel in the Oaks', 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte with the Reverend Andy Guthe officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 25 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Harry and Bryant Company. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Charlotte Region, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204 or to The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Carolinas Chapter, 5007 Monroe Rd., Suite 101, Charlotte, NC 28205.
