Death
Stanton -- Carolyn T. Furr, 65, teacher and assistant professor for the University of Memphis, died Saturday at Haywood Park Community Hospital in Brownsville. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Memphis Funeral Home Poplar Chapel with burial in Memphis Memory Gardens. She was a member of Keeling Baptist Church and a graduate of Longwood College in Farmville, Va., and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Mrs. Furr, the wife of Fred Furr for 37 years, also leaves two daughters, Angela C. Furr and Amy C. Armstrong, and three sisters, Samantha Good, Peggy Hunter and Vicki Lawless.
