Individual Details

James Jackson "Jack" AMICK

(26 Aug 1881 - 29 Feb 1940)

Listed as A. James Amick in 1930 census.

Family stories say he owned and operated 14 high class vaudeville houses in principle cities in the South. The 1908 Memphis City Directory lists him as Jack Amick, manager of Amick's Vaudeville Exchange. I think the Appleton Post Crescent newspaper ad of 2 Jan 1921 regarding the Amick and Furr vaudeville act probably had something to do with him.
