Death

MIDLAND - Phyllis Ann Mills Furr, 70, 15000 Hopewell Church Road, died Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Furr was born Jan. 18, 1934, in Stanfield. She was a retired secretary. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Midland. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Midland. The funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Clontz will officiate. Burial will be at the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Midland. The family will meet at the home, 15000 Hopewell Church Road, Midland. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Alonzo Mills and Helen Sossaman Mills. Mrs. Furr is survived by her husband, Charles Furr of the home; son, Charles “Chip” Furr and wife, Stephanie; daughter, Cheryl F. Bennett and husband, Dave; granddaughters, Christy Leyland and husband, David, Emily Middlebrook and husband, Trent, and Makenzie and Madelyn Furr, Midland. Memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 12700 Idlebrook Road, Midland, NC 28107.
