DARDANELLE — Chester Opal Witt, 85, of Centerville died Monday, Oct. 9, 2006, at Dardanelle Hospital. He was born April 16, 1921, at Waveland to General and Mary Hunt Witt. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret FURR Witt; a son, Rick Witt; three brothers, Willie Witt, Eschol Witt and Henry Witt; and three sisters, Naomi Emerson, Tressie Teague and Oler Helton. Survivors include a son, James C. Witt of Centerville; sister, Ruth Price of Port Arthur, Texas; daughter-in-law, Debbie Witt of Dardanelle; grandchildren, Clayton Witt of Centerville, Chastity Henry and husband, Gary, of Benton, Crystal Hale and husband, Jake, of Atkins, and Shannon Young and Shane Young and wife, Ashley, of Dardanelle; great-grandchildren, Ethan Hale, and Emily, Hayli and Tanner Young; close friends, Kathy Gooch, Kelly Ford and Debbie Garrison Witt; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Petillo Hill Cemetery with Stacy Lisenbey officiating. Ar-rangements are by Cornwell Funeral Home. Pallbearers include Jake Hale, Shannon Young, Shane Young, Gary Henry, Shawn Baskin and Robert Scott.
