Death

CONCORD - Mary Louise McClure Furr, 71, of 258 Collingswood Drive, Concord, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2009 at CMC-NorthEast. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Buddy Hofner officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis. Mrs. Furr was born Dec. 20, 1937 in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late Elmer McClure and the late Bessie Louise (Brown) McClure. She had been employed at Cannon Mills as a Spinner. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Eugene Furr and a daughter, Donna (Furr) Rushing. Survivors include her sons, Benjamin Furr and wife, Susan, of Pageland, S.C. and Joe Furr and wife, Patricia, of Concord; brothers, James McClure and David McClure both of Concord; sisters, Sarah Yates of Concord and Sue Deese of Monroe; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
