Death

Mrs. Ben W. Furr, 75, of Florence, died Tuesday at 1836 First Ave, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J, M. Bennett, after a brief illness. The widow of Ben W. Furr of Lincoln County, Mrs. Furr was born and reared in Wesson, and had lived in Jackson for the past thirty years. She was a member of Richland Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. J. M. Bennett and Mrs. Bonnie Melvin, both of Jackson, Miss Julia Furr and Mrs. Grace Houck, both of Florence, two sisters, Mrs. Zena Rich of Wesson and Mrs. Anna Beatty of Wisner, La.; two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday from Baldwin Chapel with Rev. J. L. Reeves and Rev. Campbell officiating. Burial will be in the Plain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Connie Atkins, Paul Scarbrough, Gus Valentour, Dave Smallwood, Henry Misterfelt and Milton Singletary.
