GREENWOOD, S. C., Sept. 7. — (AP) A coroner's jury decided today that Mrs. Dora Furr, 34, died at the hands of her husband and Sheriff Cal White said he had placed a murder charge against P. C. Furr, 42-year-old textile worker. Mrs. Furr was shot four times with a pistol in an affray in the Greenwood business district yesterday and died before reaching a hospital. James Lake, a taxi driver, testified at the inquest today that Furr sent him to the Furr home for Mrs. Furr, saying he wanted her to sign some papers in connection with a divorce. He said he heard one shot fired and that as he ran for the police he heard three others. Sheriff White told the jury Furr had admitted firing the shots and quoted him as saying Mrs. Furr had reached into her purse and that he feared she was going to shoot him.

FURR -- Mrs. Dora Mae, 34, known as Mae Winters, "Albino Girl," fatally shot in Greenwood, S. C., September 6. Her estranged husband, F. C. Furr, admitted the shooting, police say. Mrs. Furr had appeared in side shows with James E. Strates and other shows. In addition to her estranged husband, she is survived by a son. Ray; two daughters, Ann and Alberta, and her parents. Services at First Baptist Church, Greenwood, with interment in the church cemetery there.
