Death

Dorothy Miles, formerly of Montgomery, Alabama, died Saturday, April 1, 2017 in Snellville, Georgia. She was 86. Ms. Miles was a native of Memphis, Tennessee, but she had been a resident of Montgomery, Birmingham, Alabama, Snellville, Georgia, and Homer, Alaska. Ms. Miles' memorial services will be held in Homer. She is survived by her children, Susan Furr Powers, Charlotte Furr Taylor, Carol Lynne Furr Whitaker, and Russell Allen Furr. Her grandchildren are Jonathan Powers, Seth Powers, Trey Taylor, Tristen Taylor Eidson, and Stephanie Wiggins Tejeda. The family requests that memorials be sent to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), or any local animal shelter.
