Mr. Elvin Gene Sauls, 70 of Ariton died at his home Wednesday morning, May 28, 2003 following an apparent heart attack. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday, May 30 at Mt. Olive Cemetery with the Rev. Hugh Hawkins Owen Jr. officiating. Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. Mr. Sauls was a native and lifelong resident of Dale County, Ala. He was a member of Ariton Baptist Church and Ariton Masonic Lodge 177. Mr. Sauls served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He retired from DynCorp at Fort Rucker after 32 years of service. Survivors include wife, Edna E. Sauls of Ariton; three sons Dan Sauls of Troy, Bobby Furr of Prattville, and Alan Furr of Ashville; three sisters Martha Rattazzi of Ely, Nev., Mary Danner of Hattisburg, Miss., and Betty Deyo of Montgomery; one brother, Milton Sauls of Pensacola, Fla.; four grandchildren, Natasha Sauls and Trenton Sauls of Rehobeth, Parrish Furr and Emily Furr of Ashville one great-grandchild, Cameron Furr of Trussville.Endnotes
