Death

Ronald Lane Furr, 57, of 160 Kennel Road, Stanfield, died at 3:13 p.m. Thursday, May 25, 2006, at his home. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. today in Love’s Grove United Methodist Church. The Rev. James White will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Stanly County DAV Chapter No. 12. Born April 2, 1949, in Cabarrus County was a son of the late Jim Tillman “Jake” and Phyllis Jean Long Furr and was a U.S. Army veteran. He was owner of Ronnie Furr Construction of Stanfield and a member of the Locust Fire Department. He is survived by his wife, Vickie Gail Yow Furr of the home; a son Ashley Lane Furr of Stanfield; two daughters, Amy Gail Floyd of Stanfield and April Jean Athey of Lexington; two brothers, Allen Furr of Monroe and Richard Furr of Midland; and six grandchildren, Abby Floyd, Trinity Athey, Sydney Athey, Katie Athey, Brandi Athey and Mason Furr.
