NEW LONDON -- Hattie Juanita Morris Furr, 87, 37710 Mount Creek Road, died Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2003)at Stanly Memorial Hospital, Albemarle. Born Jan. 23, 1916, in Stanly County, Mrs. Furr was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Lillie Ann Hatley Morris. She retired from Wiscassett Mills Co. and was a member of Prospect Baptist Church. Her husband, Hubert Lee Furr, died in 1970. Survivors include sons Rickey Morris Furr, Albemarle, and Gregory Lee Furr, New London; daughter Patsy Banakes, New London; brother Wyman Morris, Albemarle; and two grandchildren. Services: Graveside, 11 a.m. Saturday, Prospect Baptist Church cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Dr. Rick Miller. Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Stanly Funeral Home.
