Death

Bruce H. Baucom of Mint Hill, NC passed away quietly Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at White Oak Manor in Waxhaw, NC. Mr. Baucom was born February 6, 1918 to Lina Purser Baucom and Brady D. Baucom of New Salem, NC. He was 95 years of age. Mr. Baucom retired from R. H. Bouligny Inc. after 40 years of service. Bruce loved his garden and was known by many for the fresh tomatoes he sold every year at the roadside by his home. He had lived in Mint Hill since 1950. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Berniece Furr Baucom. He is survived by daughters, Patsy Pate (Jack), Janet Barrett (Gary) and Deborah Baucom; sons, David Baucom (Teresa) and Larry Baucom (Diane); eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. The children would like to thank the staff of White Oak Manor for their kind, diligent and professional care. We miss you Daddy. The family will gather at McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel to receive friends on Friday, December 13, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. A service to Celebrate the life of Bruce H. Baucom wil begin at 3 p.m. with Rev. Lee Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either White Oak Manor, 700 Howie Mine Road, Waxhaw, NC 28173 or Hospice of Union County, 700 West Roosevelt Blvd., Monroe, NC 28110. Arrangements are by McEwen Funeral Service – Mint Hill Chapel.
