ALBEMARLE — Odell Roosevelt Furr, 44, of 1323 Walnut St, died Thursday morning at Stanly County Hospital. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 pm at Mt Olive Baptist Church where Mr. Furr held his membership. Officiating at the rites will be the Rev. Bryan Sipes and the Rev. Benny Carpenter. Burial will be in Herrin's Grove Primitive Baptist Church cemetery. The body was to be taken from Hartsell Funeral Home to the residence at 2 pm today, and will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the services. Born Oct 30, 1930, in Stanly County, Mr. Furr was the son of Mrs. Beulah Hatley Page of Albemarle and the late George C. Furr. He was a disabled veteran of the Korean War, and was a member of the Albemarle Disabled Veterans. Survivors in addition to his mother includes his wife, Mrs. Jean Harsell Furr, one sister, Mrs. Ned Mann of Albemarle, and three nephews.
