Death

Lincoln Reid Roberson, 89, of Albemarle passed away Friday, January 15, 2016 in the VA Hospital, Salisbury. His funeral service will be 2 PM Monday, January 18, 2016 in the Stanly Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Otis Goins and Rev. Mitchell Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Stanly Gardens of Memory with full Military Rites by the Stanly County DAV Ritual Team. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Stanly Funeral Home from 6 until 8 PM. Born May 26, 1926 in Alcoa, TN, Mr. Roberson was the son of the late Robert Roberson and Minnie Sparks Roberson and was a retired superintendent with Cannon Mills. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Mr. Roberson was preceded in death by his first wife Edna Furr Roberson. He is survived by his second wife Annie Cook Roberson of the home. Other survivors include daughter Wanda Hartsell and husband Toby of Mt. Pleasant, brother Sam Roberson of Albemarle, sister Marie Misenheimer of Richfield, stepsons Tony Mauldin, Danny Mauldin and Marty Mauldin, all of Albemarle, 4 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 10 great- grandchildren and numerous step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter Patricia Eudy, stepson Mike Mauldin, and stepdaughter Connie Martin.
