Death
OAKBORO — Melvin Lynn Furr, 17, of Rt 1 Oakboro died Friday might at Charlotte Memorial Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born Aug 10, 1955 in Stanly County, he was a son of Leonard Lamar and Marie Stewart Furr of Rt 1 Oakboro. He was a senior at West Stanly High School. Funeral services will be held at 4 pm today at Mineral Springs Baptist Church where Mr. Furr held his membership. Officiating at the rites will be the Rev. Kenny Wallace assisted by the Rev. Gene Hopkins. Burial will be in the church cemetery. In addition to his parents, survivors include a brother, Rex Lamar Furr of the home and his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Margie Stewart of Marshville.Endnotes
