Death
HIGH POINT, Oct. 11.—Mrs. Docia Furr Owens, 44, of the Trinity Road, died in a local hospital early this morning. She suffered a stroke Friday night and never regained consciousness. Mrs. Owens was a daughter of J. R. and Mary McLeod Furr, who survives. Other survivors include one son, E. R. Owens, Jr., High Point; two daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae Grubb, High Point, and Mrs. Lucille Dowdy, Greensboro; four brothers, Robert E. Furr, High Point, J. A. Furr, Statesville, F. L. Furr, Durham, and Eldridge Furr, New Bern; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Fultz, Randleman, Mrs. J. C. Horn, Winston-Salem, and Miss Pauline Furr, of the home. Funeral will be held at South Side Baptist Church Sunday at 1:30 Pp. m. Interment will be made in ‘the family plot of the Biscoe Cemetery.News and Record, Greensboro, North Carolina, October 12, 1947
