The Concord Times says: “Martin M. Furr, a Populist Justice of the Peace of No. 9 township, and other parties were indicted and convicted this court for compounding a felony, or covering up crime. The case was on trial part of Tuesday and Wednesday. The jury was out about an hour and returned a verdict of guilty. The sentence of the court was that Esquire Furr be fined $50 and be deprived of his office. He is forever debarred from holding any office of trust or profit in the State forever.”
