Death

Wayne William (Tex) Furr, 41, of 2695 Delta avenue, died in a hospital at St. George, Utah, November 1, as a result of injuries received when his car skidded near St. George on October 29, overturned and pitched into a ravine. Fred L. Sultan, 54, former resident of Long Beach, who was with Furr, was killed instantly in the crash, and Furr, mortally injured, went to the St. George hospital. His wife, Mrs. Madaline Furr, and his brother, Joseph F. Furr, of Long Beach, arrived at the hospital few hours after the crash, but the injured man ever regained consciousness. Furr was born in Wesson, Ark., and had lived in Long Beach 18 years. He was a skilled lumber mill operator and had been employed for a number of years by the Hardwood Importing Co. here. He Is survived, in addition to his widow and brother here, by his father, W. O. Furr, Magnolia, Ark.; four sisters, Mrs. C. C. Wright, Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. W. W. Miner, Mrs. D. D. Bennett, Mrs. Alton Ray of Magnolia, Ark., and a niece, May Jo Furr, of Long Beach. Funeral services will be conducted at Motiell’s chapel at 2. p.m. Wednesday.
