Death

NEWTON -- Francille V. Furr died Saturday, September 7, 2002 in The Abernethy Center with her family by her side. Born in Union County on September 2, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John Raymond Deese and Izena Zulica Jones Deese. She had resided at Edwin Towers Apartments in Charlotte before moving to Newton to be cared for by her family. She was formerly employed as a dietician at Presbyterian Hospital and was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Charlotte. A service to celebrate the life of Francille V. Furr will be held 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, 2002 from the graveside at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery with The Reverend Michael Cummings and The Reverend Al Stout, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at McEwen Charlotte Chapel. Survivors are her nieces and nephews, including Christine Helms of Charlotte and Doris Francille Mullis of Newton and many great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Johnny Lee Furr, in 1948 and by all nine of her brothers and sisters. The family wishes to thank Betty Campbell, June Perkins and Jan Sigmon, employees of Hospice of Catawba Valley, and all of her other healthcare providers for their excellent care and expressions of love.
