Tuesday, December 26, 2006 — James Dossie Roberts Jr., 48, of 173 Hydro Road, Mt. Gilead, died Saturday, Dec. 23, 2006, at his home. Funeral will be Wednesday, 2 p.m. at the Hamer Creek Baptist Church. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes. The Rev. Alex Willoughby will officiate and burial will be McRae Cemetery. Born in Montgomery County Aug. 6, 1958, he was the son of Maxine Cook Roberts of Mt. Gillead and the late James Dossie Roberts Sr. He was a welder and mechanic and attened Hamer Creek Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lori Furr Roberts, son James Daniel Roberts and daughter Holly Brianna Roberts, all of the home, three sisters, Carolyn Simmons of Troy, Kay Huneycutt of Albemarle and Gwen Parker of Hurricane, W. Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at Edwards Funeral Home in Mt. Gilead.
