Death
Wade (Happy) Furr, 71, of La Jolla Calif., formerly of Kirkland, died Monday of a heart ailment in La Jolla. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the L a Jolla Mortuary. Interment will be in La Jolla. Mr. Furr lived in Kirkland before moving to Borger where he was in the grocery business for 17 years. He moved to California in 1945. He and the former Lola Chandler were married in Kirkland. He was a brother of the late C. W. Furr, founder of the Furr Foods and Cafeterias chain. Survivors include his wife, Lola of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Jennings Davis of Pasadena Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Pearl Dick of Wichita, Kans and three grandchildren.The Childress Index, Childress, Texas, August 20, 1968
