Death

OKLAHOMA CITY – Ione Virginia (Evans) Furr, 87, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2007, at Mercy Hospital. She was born June 9, 1920, to Hattie (Arnold) and William Avery Evans in Voca, Okla. She married Clyde W. Furr Dec. 7, 1942. He died in 1988. She was employed for more than 25 years as a nurse’s aid at the Beaver County (Okla.) Nursing Home. For the last several years, she had attended Spring Creek Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. She and her husband enjoyed camping, fishing, and playing pitch and dominoes with Don and Leona Avers. She loved cooking family dinners, attending her grandchildren’s activities and sporting events, and was an avid OU fan. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles and reading. She is survived by one son, Cecil Furr and wife, Janet, Oklahoma City; two daughters, Carolyn and Virginia Trevino and husband, Richard, Fritch, Texas; five grandchildren, Cody Trevino and wife, Sarah, Wichita Falls, Texas, Anne Clouse and husband, Matt, Norman, Okla., Mandy and Trevida Trevino, Austin, Texas, and Emily Kezbers and husband, Karlis, Phoenix; two great-grandchildren, Keeley and Avery Trevino, Wichita Falls; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
