Death

John Anderson Furr Jr., 44 year-old welding foreman at the Ingalls Shipyard, died at 1:45 o’clock this morning, three and a half weeks after entering the Jackson County Hospital. He had been in ill health for five months. A native of Fulton, Ala., he had lived in Pascagoula and Gautier for 18 years. He was a member of Pascagoula Lodge 419, F&AM, and the First Methodist Church of Pascagoula. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Bobbie Swetman Furr, Gautier; his mother, Mrs. Florence Furr, Selma, Ala.; his sister, Mrs. J. W. Davis, Montgomery, Ala. The funeral service will be held at Fails Funeral Home, Pascagoula, at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning The Rey. Frank Dement Jr., pastor of First Methodist Church, Pascagoula, will officiate. Following the service, the body will be taken to the Johns-Ridout Funeral Parlors in Birmingham, Ala., for cremation.
