Carl Mathias Furr of 2211 Edenton Road died Tuesday, March 7, 1978 in a local hospital. Mr. Furr was born Oct. 6, 1924 in Albemarle, NC, son of Mrs. Mary Milton Furr and the late Mr. A. B. Furr. Funeral service 11 a.m. Friday, March 10, 1978 at the Harry and Bryant Chapel in the Oaks conducted by the Rev. William G. Katibah, Jr. of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church. Mr. Furr is survived by his wife, the former Priscilla Coward; one daughter, Mrs. Collin Tietsort of Charlotte; mother, Mrs. Mary Milton Furr of Charlotte; one brother, James H. Furr of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Shelley and Kara Tietsort of Charlotte.The Charlotte Observer, Charlotte, North Carolina, March 9, 1978
