ALBEMARLE — Guilford Lee Furr, 49, of 1419 Biltmore St. died today in the Stanly County hospital after an illness of two days. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4 p. m. in the Grace Baptist Church by the Rev. Judson Rotan. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Park. The body will remain at Stanly Funeral Home where the family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 to 9 o'clock. He was born August 6, 1924, in Stanly County, son of the late James Adam and Ida Jane Smith Furr. He was employed by E. J. Snider and Co., was a veteran of the U S Navy in World War II and member of Grace Lutheran Church. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lib Luther Furr of the home, one son, James Eric Furr of the home, one daughter, Mrs. David Whitley of Albemarle, one sister, Mrs. Costle Sides of Albemarle, three brothers, Theodore, Jesse and Barney Furr of Albemarle, and two grandchildren.
