Death

Mr. Lloyd Nelson Furr, age 71, of 5601 Wedgewood Drive, died June 27, 1989 at The Oaks, Huntersville, NC, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimers. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday at Woodlawn Baptist Church, where he was a member, with the Reverend Kenneth Hollifield and the Reverend David Ridley officiating. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park, Concord, NC. Mr. Furr was born January 1, 1918 in Stanfield, NC, son of the late John Bunion Furr and Pearly Jeanette Smith Furr. He was a retired Plant Manager for Specialty Manufacturing Company in Pineville, NC. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Hallie Welch Morgan Furr; one daughter and son-in-law, Cathy F. and Flynn Gene McCall of Charlotte, NC; two brothers, Harold Furr of Stanfield, NC and Ed Furr of Locust, NC; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Cranford of Thomasville, NC and Mrs. Connie Kennedy of Oakboro, NC; one granddaughter, Miss Monica McCall of Charlotte, NC. Pallbearers will be Charles Cranford, Neil Furr, Ray Kennedy, Mike Lambert, Larry Pruett and C. W. Thomas, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Unity Sunday School Class of Woodlawn Baptist Church. McEwen Charlotte Chapel in charge.
