Death
Mrs. Sylvester Furr, 70, died Tuesday afternoon about 3 o'clock at her home, Stanfield, route 2, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Furr, the former Miss Nettie Love, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. P. Love of Stanly county, was a member of Love's Chapel Methodist church. Final rites were held for Mrs. Furr Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Love's Chapel Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Austin Hamilton, assisted by Rev. Brooks Jerome. The body lay in state in the church for one hour and burial was made in the church cemetery. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Furr is survived by two brothers, Tom Love of Charlotte and Hugh Love of Stanfield, and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Sossamon of Stanfield.Stanly News and Press, Albemarle, North Carolina, July 20, 1951
