Death

CONCORD - Mrs. Virginia Widenhouse Barringer, 88, of 1501 Zion Church Road E., died Friday, May 4, 2007, at Eden Gardens after a two-year battle with cancer. The funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeffery Hoffner officiating. Burial will be at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m., Sunday at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Mrs. Barringer was born Sept. 15, 1918, in Cabarrus County, the daughter of the late John Albert Widenhouse and the late Wilma Furr Widenhouse. She was a member of St. Martin Lutheran Church. She was a retired LPN at Cabarrus Memorial Hospital. Survivors include her husband, Mr. John Daniel Barringer; daughter, JoAnn B. Fowler and husband, Don, of Concord; son, Mr. John Daniel Barringer Jr. and wife, Lyn, of Castlerock, Colo.; grandchildren, Jenni Hardison, Lauri Fowler, Randy Fowler and Adam Barringer; great-grandchildren, Cole Hardison, Paige Hardison, Savanah Fowler and Sidney Fowler.
