Death
CONCORD - Maddie Alice Furr Harvell 76, of 3225 Zion Church Rd., Concord, died Wednesday, January 26, 2000 at Carolinas Medical Center. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 29 at 11 AM at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, Concord with Rev. Ray Rippy officiating. Burial at West Concord Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 7-8:30PM at Hartsell Funeral Home. Mrs. Harvell was born November 5, 1923 in Stanly Co, the daughter of the late John P. and Etta Eury Furr. She worked for Consolidated Trucking Co. and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Lee Harvell and 2 sons, David & Ira Harvell. Survivors include 1 son, Gerald Harvell, Concord; 1 daughter, Myrtle Harrington, Concord; 3 brothers, Robert Furr, Locust, Perry Furr, Concord, Fred Furr, Concord; 5 sisters, Ruby Drye, Concord, Annie Hurlocker, Greensboro, Leddie Russ, Concord, Bessie O'Brian, Ashboro, Bertia Holloman, High Point; 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. The family will be at the home at 3225 Zion Church Rd., Concord, NC. Hartsell Funeral Home is in charge.Obituary published in The Charlotte Observer on Jan 28, 2000
