Death

Ronnie Joe Sexton, 73, of Concord, passed away Sunday, June 7, 2020 at The Parc on Sharon Amity Road in Charlotte. Mr. Sexton was born August 16, 1946 in Montgomery County to the late William Kermit Sexton and the late Ella Parks Sexton. He was also preceded in death by Sister, Eunice Davis. The family will receive friends from 1pm - 3pm, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. A graveside service will be held immediately following the service at the Bear Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery at 22182 Canton Rd., Albemarle officiated by Rev. Sy Ponds and Darrell Furr. First and foremost, Ronnie loved his Lord and Savior. His wife, Maxine, followed in his path for 48 years. He had a deep love for everyone that crossed his path, and was a man of few needs.These needs consisted of his family, his Bible, a rod and reel, and any spot to use it. Survivors include wife, Maxine Sexton of Concord; Son, Scotty Wayne Sexton (Peggy) of Robbins; daughters, Margie Whitley Britt of Albemarle, Teresa Whitley Stegall of Concord, Tracie R. Barbee of Concord. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one on the way that he adored with all of his heart. Sisters, Jeanette Sexton Deese (AJ) of Morehead City, and Patsy Tedder (Bill) of Hampstead and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle is serving the Sexton family.
