Stanly News and Press, The (NC) - January 22, 2007Sunday, January 21, 2007 -- Leslie Fleming "Les" Weaver, 93, formerly of Albemarle, died at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen, on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007. The family will receive family and friends from 2-4 p.m. today at Hartsell Funeral Home Chapel, 522 N. 2nd St., Albemarle. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Hartsell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairview Memorial Park with military rites by Stanly County DAV Chapter 12 Ritual Team. He was born July 23, 1913, in Warren Plains, Warren County, to the late Arthur Lee Weaver and Kate Fleming Weaver. He was a veteran of World War II and served in the United States Marines. He retired from many years of service to Stovall-Wolfe Motor Co. as a salesman. He loved horses and bred, trained and enjoyed riding them. He also bred and trained hunting dogs and enjoyed hunting. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Frances Warren of Supply; two brothers, James Weaver of Norlina and Charles Weaver of Pine Mountain, Ga.; four sisters, Joyce Burton of Norlina, Delle Jones of Raleigh, Hilda Stuart of San Diego, Calif., and Bessie Guelich of Waukegan, Ill., a stepgrandchild, Linda War-ren, and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Minnie Louise (Mustian) Weaver, his second wife, Cora Furr Wea-ver, a brother, Alvin Weaver, and three sisters, Margaret Caviness, Edith Breau and Barbara Stewart.
