Death
Mr. Edd Thomas Furr, Sr. of Concord passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Atrium Health Cabarrus. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 11 at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, August 10 at Wilkinson Funeral Home. Edd was born April 4, 1935 in Concord to the late Cleveland Monroe Furr and Vadie Martha McClelland Furr. He was also preceded in death by eight siblings. Edd retired from the U.S. Army after servicing 26 years as a Master Sergeant. He was a member of the D.A.V., military was his life. Edd is survived by wife of 60 years Mary Jo Lewis Furr; son Edd T. Furr, Jr. and wife, Martha of Davidson; daughter, JoAnn F. Plott and husband, Dane of Concord; grandchildren, Sidney, Stevie, and Samantha Plott, and Shawn Johnson; great grandchildren, Kya and Kalea Johnson; and a number of extended family members. Memorial may be made to the D.A.V. Chapter #27, 2400 Rock Hill Church Rd. NW, Concord, NC 28027.Endnotes
