Death

CONCORD- Mr. Luther "Luke" Thomas Allman, 94, formerly of 3220 Joe Bost Road, Concord, died Thursday at Universal Health Care. Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Cold Springs United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Randy Wall and the Rev. Mary Hatley. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Allman family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday evening at Gordon Funeral Home and at other times at the home of Nancy Kluttz, 525 Cold Springs Road, Concord. Mr. Allman was born Jan. 16, 1912, in Cabarrus County, son of the late Charles S. Allman and Cora Ross Allman. As long as his health permitted he was a very active member of Cold Springs United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, Mable Eudy, Carrie Linker, Bertha Dennis, Howard Allman, Raymond Allman, Fred Allman, John Allman, Frank Allman and Joe Allman; also his wife of 67 years, Jessie Furr Allman. He is survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Memorial may be directed to Cold Springs United Methodist Church, 2550 Cold Springs Road, Concord, NC 28025.
