Death

ALBEMARLE - Bemice Lucille Russell Mauldin Furr, 85, 612 Rodgers St., died Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) at Stanly Memorial Hospital. Born July 1,1915, in Stanly County, Mrs. Furr, a daughter of the late John Columbus and Gustie Loulla Speights Russell, retired as a winder from American & Efird Mills. She was a member of Old Fashion Mission Baptist Church, where she was pianist for many years. She was preceded in death by her first husband. Clad Listen Mauldin, and second husband, Daniel Monroe Furr. She was also preceded in death by stepsons Gerald Lloyd Mauldin and Walter Ray and Joseph Carroll Furr. Survivors include sons Darrell Wayne Mauldin, Shallotte, Roger L. Mauldin/ Swansboro, and Jimmy Lee Mauldin, New London; daughters Patricia Honeycutt, Albemarle, and Brookshire Loulla Burris, New London; other stepsons Marshall Monroe "Pete" Furr, Charlotte, Jim Sheppard and Darrell Furr, both of Albemarle, and Roger Daniel Furr, Mount Pleasant; stepdaughter Maxine Sexton, Concord; 24 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Services: 11 a.m. Friday, Old Fashion Mission Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Billy West, the Rev. Dwight Huffman and Darrell Furr. Burial, Anderson Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 tonight, Hartsell Funeral Home. At other times the family will be at the home of daughter Patricia Honeycutt, 612 Rogers St.
