Hazel Cleona Short Furr, 93 of Nashville, Ar., passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2008 in Irving, Texas. She was born October 18, 1914 in Caddo Gap, Arkansas to the late Jethro and LaUna Gladden Short. She was a homemaker and a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church. She loved cooking, Baking, sewing and quilting. She was an excellent seamstress, making most all of the grandchildrens clothing. Her greatest joy was her family and grandchildren; she was considered by her family their prayer warrior. She also wrote poetry, she had even written a book about her life growing up. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by her husband, Edmond Furr, 2 grandsons, Rodney Furr and Steven Furr, also 1 daughter-in-law, Burley Furr. She was also preceded in death by her brother Ed Short. Survivors include: 5 children, Charles Furr of Nashville Jimmy Furr of Nashville Charlotte Byers of Irving, Texas Gary Furr of Cave City, Ar. Ronnie Furr of Nashville 17 Grandchildren, 24 Great Grandchildren and a number of Great-Great Grandchildren Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends to numerous to name. Services will be Friday, October 17, 2008 at 2 pm. At County Line Baptist Church with Bruce Short and James Spradlin officiating. Interment will follow in County Line Cemetery under the direction of Nashville Funeral Home The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm.Endnotes
