Funeral services for Kenneth Laverne Furr, 13, will be held at 10a. m. today at the Lescher Chapel, with Elder H. N. Broderson of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill cemetery with Erwin Law, Park Rozelle, Charles Gilliam, James Albert Rozelle, Johnny Dickerson, and Herbert Gorman, all former school mates of Kenneth, as pallbearers. The son of Mr. and Mrs. C. O, Furr, former Muskogeeans, Kenneth was drowned last Saturday near Pine Grove, California.

PINE GROVE, Calif., July 15 — (AP) — The body of Kenneth Laverne Furr, 18, of Muskogee, Okla., killed when hurled from a flume spillway Saturday, was enroute to Oklahoma today for burial. The boy was the victim of a spectacular accident while playing around a water flume in this Mother Lode country of the High Sierra, where he had been visiting his father who is employed on a power construction job. Camp workers deduced that the boy had been playing near one of the take-off spillways—an over- flow outlet from one of the big water flumes—when he apparently lost his footing and slipped into the flume spillway. Caught by the racing water, he was carried at rushing speed and shot out from the end of the flume 100 feet into a water pit below. His body was found in the pit by his father and workmen from the construction camp after he was missed. The boy, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Furr of Muskogee, had been staying with his mother in Richmond, Calif., but only a week ago had come to Amador county to visit his father.
