Death

CONCORD — Mrs. Myrtle Young Morrison Furr, 85, of 492 Sunnyside Drive SE, died Monday, November 12, 2001 at St. Andrews Living Center. She was born August 29, 1916 in Concord, Cabarrus County, NC, daughter of the late Myrtle Barrier Morrison and Joseph Y. Morrison. She was the owner and operator of Western Auto Associate Store, a member of St. James Lutheran Church, a life member of Southern Auxiliary Seminary, a member of WELCO and dedicated to the Coltrane Life Center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, at St. James Lutheran Church, Dr. Kathryn Baines and Dr. John E. Boyd, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Concord. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Hartsell Funeral Home, Concord. Surviving are her husband, Wilbur F. Furr of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Lanni Furr of Park City, UT; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Barbara Morrison of Atlanta, GA; and granddaughter and husband, Mary Pope Furr/Robinson and Matt, of Raleigh, NC; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Furr was preceded in death by a brother, Baker Morrison.
