Death

Mrs. Ethell Furr, age 90, of Hosford, passed away Friday, January 16, 2009, at her home. Mrs. Furr was born in Smith Creek and had lived in Liberty County most of her life. She was a homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. She was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother. The most important thing in her life was her children. They promised her that she would never be put in a nursing home and that she would pass at her home in their arms. They kept their promise with total dedication. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Furr and two grandchildren, Ron Furr and Les Flanagan. She is survived by a son, Lamar Furr and his wife, Janice of Tallahassee; three daughters, Marcell Flanagan and her husband, Lester of Hosford, Daphine Blackburn and her husband, Windle of Vienna, Georgia, and Debra Coon of Telogia; five grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. A graveside service was held 3:30 p.m. EST, Saturday, January 17, at Good Hope Cemetery with Reverend Tommy Sumner officiating.
