Death
Sudie Marie Childress Furr, 91, of Victoria, formerly of Stockdale, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005. She was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Wilson County, to the late Sam and Annie Susan West Childress. Survivors: sons, Chester Furr of Natalia and James Furr of Tivoli; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by: husband, Calvin Henry Furr; sisters, Hattie Wiley, Amanda Reese, Callie Anderson, Maudie King, Lela Hall, and Alta Darst; brothers, Ollie Childress, Robert Lee Childress, Lon Childress, DeWitt Childress, Jeff David Childress, and Albert Childress. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today at Finch Funeral Chapel. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, the Rev. James Furr officiating. Burial will be at Steele Branch Cemetery in Stockdale.
